Alto - Funeral services for Robert Henry "Bobby" Holcomb, 84, of Alto will be Saturday December 31st, 2016, at 1 pm at the A. Frank Smith United Methodist Church in Alto with Rev. Ryan Stratton and Rev. Amanda Stratton officiating. Mr. Holcomb died Thursday in Alto. He was born September 11, 1932 in Alto, Texas to Albert Henry and Amy Rozelle Holcomb. He lived most of his life in Alto and was a member of the A. Frank Smith United Methodist Church. Bobby was a tomato farmer, a U.S. Army veteran and had also worked as a social worker at the Rusk State Hospital. He also served for many years as a liaison for the patients after their release from the hospital. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, sister Albertine Simmons and son David Alan Holcomb. Survivors include wife Rosa Belle Allen Holcomb of Alto, son Thomas Henry Holcomb (Cathy) of The Colony, Daughter Rosa Lynn Holcomb Allen (Cody) of Alto, grandchildren Amy Guidry (Judd), Alicia Adkison (Brandon), Luke Johnson, David Henry Holcomb, Cheyenne Holcomb and O.T. Allen (Ashley), great grandchildren Clayton, Aubrey, Presley, Brooks, Ford and Emily. He is also survived by niece Carolyn Simmons, nephew Mike Simmons and many other relatives and friends. The family will receive visitors Friday, December 30th, from 6-8 pm at the funeral home in Alto.
