Alto - Memorial services for Rayburn Miller "Ray Miller" Hoover Jr., 70, of Alto will be Saturday, March 25th, at 2 PM in the A. Frank Smith United Methodist Church in Alto with Rev. Ryan Stratton and Rev. Amanda Stratton officiating. A family visitation will begin at 1 PM Saturday before the service, also at the church. Mr. Hoover died Sunday, March 19th, in Tyler. He was born September 20th, 1946 in Houston, Texas to Rayburn M. Hoover Sr & Lu Ola Holcomb Hoover. Mr. Hoover had lived in Houston for most of his life and in Alto for 6 years. Ray was a member of the A. Frank Smith United Methodist Church in Alto and was a graduate of Texas A & M University, class of 1968. He had worked for 35 years as a Superintendent for the City of Houston. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include wife Pat Hoover of Alto, daughter Kristin "Kris" Hoover of Alto, son Rayburn M. "Ray" Hoover III of Houston, sister Sandra Sue Harris (Jack) of Rock Springs, niece Shannon Hanson and nephews Michael Foster and John Brink Harris.
