Allen & Son Funeral Home- Alto, Texas- (936) 858-4111 Alto - Funeral service for Patsy Ann Whitaker, 57, of Alto will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, September 24, 2016, at the Alto Community Fellowship CHurch in Alto, Texas with Rev. Lionel Whitaker officiating. Burial will be held in the New Hope Cemetery under the direction of O.T. Allen and Son Funeral Directors. Ms. Whitaker passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2016, in Jacksonville, Texas. She was born March 18th, 1959 in Lufkin, Texas to Robert Lee Thacker and Lois Marie Reggie. She lived all her life in Alto and was a graduate of Alto High School and Prairie View A&M University. She was a member of the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church and worked at Rusk State Hospital as a Rehab Technician. She had also worked as Alto ISD and Rusk ISD. She was preceded in death by father Robert Lee Thacker and step father John Dickson as well as 2 brothers. She is survived by mother Lois Dickson of Alto, daughters SheKeyva Smalley (Stephen) of Denton and Shandrel Whitaker of Irving, sons Jacolby Whitaker of Nacogdoches, Sgt 1st Class Cornelius Whitaker (Theresa) of San Antonio and Demarcus Dukes of Denison, 11 grandchildren, sisters LaTasha Adams (Carlois), Clemmie Ramsey (Al), Bernice Pope, Bennie Mitchell (Roy), Kay Lofton, Grace Windom and Sheila Lyons (Melvin), and brothers Lane Pope (Darlene), Steve Lofton (Tarita), Rodney Thacker (Lisa) and Keith Thacker. Pallbearers will be Datrin Moore, Dack Martin, Kendrick Morrison, Charlie Wallace, Michael Crews, Edric Bradford and Armando Arroyo. Honorary pallbearers are Rodney Thacker, Keith Thacker, Carlois Adams and the grandsons. There is no visitation scheduled.
