Private burial services for Opal Lucille Lindsey, age 95, of Rusk and formerly of Alto were held Monday, April 20, at the Old Palestine Cemetery in Alto. Mrs. Lindsey passed away Sunday, April 19, in Jacksonville. She was born November 13, 1924 in Douglass, Texas to Jessie Roy Palmer and Willie Legg Palmer. Opal lived all her life in Cherokee county and was Christian. She had worked for many years at the Indian Mound Nursery near Alto and Wing Archery in Jacksonville. She was preceded in death by husband Charlie Lindsey as well as 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Survivors include brother Harold Palmer and sister Katherine Lindsey.
