Funeral services for Nelda Ruth Lawson, 75, of Alto, Texas will be Sunday July 28th, at 2pm at the O.T. Allen & Son Chapel. Visitation will be Saturday July 27th from 6-8pm also at the funeral home. Mrs. Lawson died Friday July 26th in Rusk, Texas. She was born in Nacogdoches, Texas November 11th, 1943 to Henry and Della Presley Armstrong. She was raised in the Douglass and Nacogdoches area and also lived in Alto for many years where she and her husband owned and operated the Texaco Filling Station. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers R. L. and Max and four sisters Zera, Frances, Agnes, and Sybil. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law Melinda and Paul Gates of Dialville, Texas, and Teresa Gardiner of Alto, Texas, grandchildren Mickey Gates (Jessica), Susan Munsinger (Anthony), Sonya Alexander (David), and Willard Creel, 11 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Gates, Dennis Morris, Mickey Gates, David Alexander, Anthony Munsinger, and Jerry Knott, Jr.
