Alto – Funeral services for Martha Ann Priest, 85, of Alto and formerly of Huntsville will be Wednesday August 23rd at 10am at A. Frank Smith UMC in Alto with Rev. Ryan Stratton and Rev. Amanda Boyd-Stratton officiating. Burial will follow at the Alto City Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Priest died Sunday in Jacksonville. She was born October 20th, 1931 in Wieland, Texas to Isaac Newton and Martha Antionette Cummins Ross. She lived in Huntsville for 33 years before returning to Alto. She was a member of First Christian Church in Huntsville but attended A. Frank Smith UMC in Alto. She was a generous and giving person both financially and with home cooked meals. She gave to the Bowls Children Home and cooked food for everyone in her neighborhood. She also ministered to the infirmed and elderly by bringing them food or taking them to church. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert Aaron "R.A." Ross, and sister Miriam Lou Ross.

She is survived by her husband Bob Priest of Jacksonville, Texas; Daughters and Son-in-law Paula and Randy Low of Alto, Texas, Sandra Ybarra of Arlington, Texas, and Lisa Taylor of Huntsville, Texas; Grandchildren Aaron (Amanda), Amber (D.J.), Lance, Adam (Tori), Evan, Jerica, Lucas, and Rachel; and 6 great grandchildren with one on the way. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
