Funeral services for Marie Thomas, 99, of Alto, will be Monday, June 1st, at 11 AM at the Hilltop Baptist Church with Rev. Dusty Lee officiating.  Mrs. Thomas passed away Thursday, May 28th in Nacogdoches. She was born October 2, 1920 in Alto, Texas to Luther E. & Jennie Breland McCullough. Marie lived all her life in Alto and was a homemaker. She had also worked for many years at Boyd's Pharmacy and Brunt's Ready To Wear in Alto. Marie was a member of the Hilltop Baptist Church and had served as Secretary-Treasurer for the Alto City Cemetery for many years. She was preceded in death by husband Floyd Thomas, brothers Harlon, Dick, Charles "Blackie", Don and Kent McCullough, sisters Thelma Clinton and Hallie McCullough and grandson Jeffrey Thomas. Marie is survived by son and daughter-in-law Larry & Vicki Thomas of Arlington, grandchildren Jill Hansen, Julie LaPinta, Mallory Coon and Thomas Coon and great grandchildren Alex, Arin, Christian, Cody and Sam as well as great grandchild Anastasia. The family will receive visitors from 10 am until service time Monday. Social distancing and seating on every other pew are encouraged by the funeral home.
