Marcus (Mark) Dean Ivy, 67, of Cushing, Texas passed away on October 7, 2023 in Nacogdoches, Texas.

A private service will be held at a later date.

Mark was born in Nacogdoches to Marcus D and Gale Gibbs Ivy on August 12, 1956. He attended Cushing Schools. He married Starla Owens on June 7, 1974 in Henderson, Texas. Mark worked in the oil field many years before retirement. He was a loving father who loved his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren beyond measure. He loved to read and often said you could go anywhere you wanted within the pages of a book. He was passionate about genealogy and studying the past. He was a member of the Texas State Archeological Society as well as the East Texas Archeological Society where he enjoyed spending countless hours researching and participating in activities with the group.

In addition to his parents, Mark is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Honey Owens.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Starla; his mother in law, Janet Owens; his daughter Dee Cruz and husband Tony; son Brady Ivy; daughter in law Jade Milstead; brothers, Steve Ivy and wife Wanda, Tuff Ivy and wife Betty; sister, Kathy De La Paz and husband Marcelo; brother-in-law Dennis Owens and wife Sherrie; grandchildren Taylor and Colt Simmons, Destiny and Randy Dahlen, Peyton Ivy, Deaven Ivy, Cheyenne Cruz, Avery Cruz, Marisa Ivy, Jackson Ivy, and Trey Grissom; great-grandchildren, Olivia Simmons, Bailey Simmons, Ayla Carney, and Dax Carney; aunts, Artie Linthicum, Carol Gibbs, and Betty Ivy; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family has requested no flowers. If you would like, memorials may be given in Mark's name to East Texas Archeological Society at PO 632748, Nacogdoches, Texas.
