Marcelette Broussard, 92, of Lakehills, Texas, passed away on February 2, 2021 in Boerne, Texas. She was born in Dayton, Texas on April 1, 1928 to Thomas A. and Mae LaCaze Sandidge. On September 2, 1949, in Beaumont, Texas, she married Sexton Eddie Broussard. Marcelette was preceded in death by her husband, Sexton Eddie Broussard, and her brother, Louis Sandidge.

She attended Lamar Junior College; the University of Houston where she earned her Bachelor of Education degree; Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, Texas where she earned her Masters in Education. She enjoyed being a teacher of first grade in Pasadena ISD and Rusk ISD where she retired with 30-plus years in the classroom.

She was active in the Rusk Civic Theater and the Rusk Presbyterian Church of Rush, Texas, and Pipe Creek Presbyterian Church, Pipe Creek, Texas.

She is survived by Gleta J. Haggard (sister), Thomas Sandidge (brother), and Carmalene Sandidge (sister-in-law). Nieces and nephews include Brenda and Joe Lockhart & family, David and Barbara Brady & family, Shirlene and Bob Mahoney & family, Elizabeth Sandidge, Clint and Amy Sandidge, and multiple Broussard nieces and nephews.

Burial will be February 6. 2021 at Walker Cemetery in Reklaw, Texas, at 11:00 am. In Lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Pipe Creek Presbyterian Church Quilters, P.O. Box 63377, Pipe Creek, Texas 78063
