Obituary

Linwood D. Hinson, Age 80, of Alto, Texas, beloved husband of Rose Jones Hinson, passed away on Wednesday June the 20th Lindy was a longtime resident of Alto, Texas, moving there from Pollok, Texas twenty-one years ago. He was born in Lufkin, Texas to Dewitt and Margaret Allen Hinson(pre-deceased) of Allentown, Texas. Dewitt worked for Humble Oil Company and traveled the continental United States with his wife and son as a Master Pipe Liner. Lindy attended thirty-seven schools on his journey of education. He finished at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. He would often talk to his family about his experiences in different schools around the country. One thing for sure, being the new kid on the block all the time, was not for the weak. His exposure to other parts of the country gave him an intense appreciation of East Texas. He had a great love for his country and was a proud soldier in the United States Army serving his active duty in Germany. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Wells, Texas. Linwood retired from the Papermill in Lufkin, Texas after working there for thirty-five years. He had a strong work ethic and believed that hard work and diligence had a moral benefit and an inherent ability to strengthen character. He was committed to honesty, integrity and accountability. He was not a believer of labels, names or titles. He was a "man's man". He found God in nature whether it was on his tractor in the middle of the pasture or in his old truck calling the cows to feed. He made rounds and worked on his ranch every day. A compassionate man known for his love of family, he often said he was blessed with the best family in the world. He is survived by his beloved wife Rose, with fifty-seven years of marriage; and children Sabrina Nerren and her husband Randy of Pollok, Texas, Jason Hinson and his wife, Kimberly of Alto, Texas, a loving papaw of four grandchildren, Hunter Nerren and his wife Cristen of Pollok, Texas; Dakota Nerren (predeceased); Colten Hinson and Kaylynn Hinson, both of Alto, Texas; three great grandchildren, Kutter, Randall and Harper Nerren.
