Laura Olenick, 67, of Nacogdoches, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at her home in Nacogdoches. She was born July 28, 1953 to Dave "Jack" Emerson and Thelma Oleta Scroggins Emerson in Nacogdoches. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers David Walter Emerson and Bill Emerson.  A lifelong resident of Nacogdoches, she loved to sew and crochet. But her true love was her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Charles R. Olenick, daughters Laura Elizabeth (David) Rogers of Nacogdoches, Tammy Marie Olenick of Cushing, and Charlene Olenick of Texarkana, Arkansas; brothers Leon Emerson and James Emerson both of Nacogdoches, Charles Emerson of Tyler, and Robert Lee Emerson of Mejia; and sister Sue Mae (Gary) Adams of East Texas. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Melena Cooper, Justin Cooper, Kayla Cooper, Monica and Kenneth Monday, James Shockley and William Shockley, III, Hannah and Haley Spears, and David and Alyssa Rogers; and great grandchildren Jayden Sage, and Levi and Luke Harris. Additionally, she left behind numerous step grandchildren, and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She will truly be missed.
