Funeral services for Kenneth Ervin Wheeless, 74, of Cushing, Texas will be 11:00 am Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Dickie Allen Funeral Home in Cushing. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Kenneth Ervin Wheeless passed away Saturday, April 23, 2022 in Tyler, Texas. Kenneth was born to Ervin Wheeless and Versie Wade Wheeless on December 14, 1947 in Beaumont, Texas. He grew up and spent his life in Cushing. Kenneth worked for Southwestern Bell and after thirty-one years he retired. He was not content just sitting around. He worked hard and took pride in his work. Kenneth started is own business and worked with it for over ten years. He would take his kids to the lake during summer breaks to fish. Something that brought him joy. Later in life the love of his life were his grandchildren, as well. Kenneth enjoyed spending time with them whenever he could; he never met a stranger. You could find him visiting with others at the old Sacul coffee shop and at his neighbors homes. When he wasn't watching sci-fi's or his old westerns, Kenneth was having fun on his escavator digging up trees or working around his pond. Kenneth loved the outdoors and as he often remarked, his "property was his playground." He was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Versie Wheeless. He is survived by his daughter Katie Holland and husband Matthew of Cushing, Texas and son Wade Wheeless of Cushing, Texas and sister Glenda Gresham and husband Gerald. Kenneth also leaves behind granDchildren Madison Holland, Raelyn Wheeless, Makayla Holland, Hayden Wheeless, and Olivia Holland.
