Alto - Kate Eloise Dover Maynard went to be with her Lord and Savior on Jan. 1st, 2017 in Henderson, Texas. She was born on Sept. 23rd, 1927 at Alto, Texas to the late Walter and Katy Dover. Eloise had a varied list of careers such as teaching in public schools and being the head librarian of the public library at Woodville, Tx. Her most treasured job was teaching grade 5 Sunday School girls at FBC Henderson. Before moving to Henderson, she also taught senior girls at FBC at Woodville, Tx. (A total of 50 years!) She married the love of her life, Gerald P. Maynard, who went to be with his Lord and Savior in Nov. of 2015. Survivors include only daughter and son-in-law Vicki and Harold Stieg of Waco, Tx; one Grandson, Matthew Lindsey of Austin, Tx.; and one Sister Lucille Dover of Lufkin, Tx. The family would like to thank Brookdale Senior Living of Henderson and the Hospice of East Texas in Tyler for their excellent care and support. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00am on Thurs. Jan. 12th in the Sanctuary of FBC Henderson.
