A funeral service for Josephine Barnhart will be Friday August 25th, 2023 at 2pm at the Dickie Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Pirtle Cemetery. A vistation will be Thursday night from 6-8pm also at the funeral home.

Josephine Barnhart (Mason), 93, of Cushing, Texas,  passed away on Monday, August 21, 2023, at Westward Trails Nursing Home, in Nacogdoches, Texas.  She was born March 11th, 1930 in Kaufman, Texas to Richard Ellis and Elmer Lane Mason. She was a lifetime resident of Cushing, Texas, a member of Landmark Baptist Church and enjoyed many hobbies. She worked the family farm, enjoyed canning and quilting and was famous for her recipe for Pear Chow Chow. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Rubert Barnhart, 1 brother and 3 sisters. She is survived by her son David Barnhart, grandchildren Morgan Barnhart, and Cameron Barnhart, great grandchildren Ethan and Cordell, as well as nieces and nephews.
