Graveside funeral services for John W. White, 87, of Alto, will be held Thursday, August 12, at 10:30 AM in the White Family Cemetery in Alto with Bro. Rod Skelton officiating. John passed away Monday, August 9, in Rusk. He was born June 14, 1934 in Emory, Texas to Thomas E. White and Kate Wolf White. John grew up in the Miller Grove Community in Hopkins County and moved to Alto in 1961. He was a truck farmer, rancher and cattleman and worked many years for Irby Construction as a mechanic. John was also a U.S. Army veteran and enjoyed hunting and fishing. John is survived by wife Eloise White of Alto, sons Johnny White and wife Jill of Alto, Ricky D. White of Las Vegas, daughter Cathey Hasty of Palestine, brother Ben White of Alto as well as 3 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
