Obituary

John Milton Houston Reece passed away at the age of 86.  He was born February 10, 1937, in Wells, TX to John and Susan Oliver Reece.

He was a member of Primrose Missionary Baptist Church. John was also an Army veteran, member of the 49th Division for 10 years and 1 year of active duty at Fort Polk, LA.

John retired after 40 years of employment from Lufkin Industries as an inspector, a machinist, and a master assembler. He also worked as a nurse tech for 10 years at Rusk State Hospital as well as General Electric. He was a farmer and rancher. John was a graduate of Alto Highschool, year 1957. John loved to hunt and enjoyed talking about the past. He enjoyed football and watching his granddaughters play softball.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Christie Gale Reece Teutsch of Alto, infant son, parents, John and Susan Oliver Reece of Alto, sisters, Ann and Milton Jackson of Centerville and Jerry and John Blackmon of Alto.

John is survived by his wife, Sue Tullos Reece, granddaughters, Abbie and Averi Teutsch and great-nephew and family, Dustin Kulms.

Visitation will be held at O.T. Allen & Son Funeral Home Friday, August 25, 2023 9:00 am - 10:00 am with funeral service to begin at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Simpson Cemetery in Pollok, TX. Pallbearers will be Dustin Kulms, Bobby Reese, Keith Lindsey, Jerrod Kulms, Tommy Richardson, and Chris Hammons.
