A graveside funeral service for Joe W. Dunn, 73, of Alto will be Friday at 11AM in the Old Palestine Cemetery near Alto with Rev. Rhonda Watson officiating. Mr. Dunn passed away Monday, January 20 in Alto. He was born April 27, 1951 in Lufkin, Texas to Wiley T. Dunn and Ruby Estel Antley Dunn. Joe had lived in Lufkin for many years and lived in Alto for the last 28 years. He attended the First Baptist Church in Alto and loved hunting and fishing. Joe had worked in road construction and also had worked for Lufkin Foundries and the Angelina Airport. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as brothers Treadwell, Jimmy, J.L. and David Dunn. Joe is survived by wife Shirley Dunn of Alto, daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and James Cathey of Alto and sons Joseph Dunn and Jabe Dunn of Alto as well as grandchildren Justin Dunn, Austin Cathey and Jay Lynn Dunn. Mr. Dunn's sons and grandsons will serve as pallbearers. There is no visitation scheduled.
