CUSHING – Funeral services for Jimmy Fred Owens, 80, of Cushing will be Thurs. March 15th at 2pm at the Dickie Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Pirtle Cemetery with Bro. Darryl Owens officiating. Mr. Owens died Sunday in Nacogdoches. He was born January 11th, 1938 in Cushing, Texas to Sylvester and Leola Barnes Owens.

Mr. Owens served in the Armed Forces as an MP from 1961-1963 in Korea. Jimmy loved Jesus, family, and friends. He was a member of Sulpher Springs Missionary Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his Parents, Brother Edward, "Son" Dempsey, Vester Gene "Honey" Owens, Ray "Baby Ray" Owens, Granvil Oren Owens, Sisters Mary Rogas, Catherine Lochridge. He is survived by Sister Brenda Finger; Sisters-in-law Martha (Ray) Owens and Janet (Honey) Owens, and numerous Nieces and Nephews. He is also survived by his "other family" friends Johnny and Judy Penney, and their families.

Thank you to all who have known and loved Jimmy. Special thanks to the staff and employees at Stallings Court…you all were a God send to Jimmy. He loved each and every one of you. You helped him make Stallings Court his home. God bless all of his friends and family. We will keep the precious memories in our hearts until we meet again.
