A memorial service for Jimmy Treice Gresham, will be held Sunday January 15th, at 2pm at the Dickie Allen Funeral Home Chapel. No visitation is scheduled. Jimmy Treice Gresham passed away Sunday, January 8, 2017, surrounded by his family at his residence in Nacogdoches, Texas, at the age of 80. Born February 19, 1936 in Sacul, Texas, Jimmy spent most of his life in Nacogdoches, Texas, with the past 40 years nestled on three peaceful acres next to his good friends, Eldon and Mildred Benton. On any given sunny day he could be found spending time in his garden, on his tractor, or out on the lake reeling in a fresh catch. Jimmy worked as a produce manager for 50 years for various grocery stores including Child''s/Piggly Wiggly, Safeway, AppleTree, and Brookshire Brothers. Locals often speak of how Jimmy illuminated the produce department with his smile and gentle spirit. After the passing of his wife, Evelyn, he maintained a worthwhile friendship with her best friend, Jean "Sis" Loyd. He attended Old North Church and loved his family more than anything. He was selfless, humble and a man of impeccable character. He is survived by his daughter, Suzan Marie Peppard and Dan of Nacogdoches, Texas; his grandchildren, Spencer Charles Peppard and Misti of Nacogdoches, Texas, Katy Ann Peppard and Chris of Somerset, England, and Tyler Triece Peppard and Jacklyn of Nacogdoches, Texas; his beloved great-granddaughter, Morgan Keely Peppard (6) of Nacogdoches, Texas; and his brothers and sister, Troy Ellis Gresham of Pasadena, Texas, Damon Henry Gresham and Betty of Longview, Texas, Wilene Marie Dempsey of Pasadena, Texas, Gary Winston Gresham and Kim of Stockbridge, Virginia and David Charles Gresham and Martha of Cushing, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Mary "Evelyn" (Wood) Gresham, his sister-in-law, Ruby Gresham, and his brother-in-law, George Dempsey.
