Alto – Funeral services for Joel Clinton "J.C." Dover will be Sunday June 17th at 2pm at the Alto Missionary Baptist Church. Interment to follow at Old Palestine Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 6-8pm at Missionary Baptist Church.

Mr. Dover died Thursday June 14th in Alto. He was born May 13th, 1941 in Alto, Texas to Augustus McDonald and Bessie Lovin Land Dover. He was a member of Alto Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and a song director. He was also a Gideon. He and his wife Nellie owned and operated Dover Plant Farm in Alto for 43 years. He was the Alto Yellowjackets #1 fan. Mr. Dover is preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his wife Nellie Dover of Alto, Texas; son and daughter-in-law Stanley and Kellie Dover of Alto, Texas; brothers and sister-in-law Larry and May Dover of Alto, Texas and A.C. Dover of Alto, Texas; Sister Dovie Whitaker of Lilbert, Texas; grandchildren Clinton and Lexi Dover and Savana Dover; great grandchildren Cy, Harlow, and Stanton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
