Funeral services for Jamie Pope, 47, of Alto will be held Saturday, October 24, at 11 AM at the St. Thomas Chapel Cemetery near Alto with Pastor Kevin Neismith officiating. There will be a visitation time from 2-6 PM Friday at The River Church in Alto. Jamie passed away Friday, October 16, in Alto. He was born November 8, 1972 in Lufkin, Texas to Emory Pope and Helen Hamilton Dickerson.  Jamie lived most of his life in Alto and graduated from Alto High School in 1992. He had worked as a supervisor at the Rusk State Hospital and was a member of the St. Thomas Chapel A.M.E. Church. Jamie was preceded in death by his father Emory Pope and by grandparents Essie and Coneal Hamilton. He is survived by wife Denise Pope of Alto, daughter Dariyana Pope of Alto, son Datrin Moore of Alto, mother Helen Dickerson of Alto, sisters Sheila Bradley (Bruce) of Rusk and Angelitha Dickerson of Alto, brothers Chad Pope of Alto, Patrick Pope (Melba) of Rusk and Antron Dickerson of Alto, grandchildren Eunice Moore and Jamieon Hunt and good friend James H. Mason. Pallbearers are Jerry Moore, Fred Hackney, Jeremy Skinner, Kevin Pope, Derrick Richards and Draper Skinner. Honorary pallbearers are Patrick Pope, Chad Pope, Antron Dickerson, Datrin Moore, Bruce Bradley, James Hunt, Nick Pope and Jacoby Whitaker.
