Rev. James Lee Skinner was born August 11, 1932, in Alto, Texas to the late Floyd Skinner and Rosie Hodges.
James received his formal education at Weeping Mary Baptist Churn in Alto, Texas. He worked at the lumber yard in Rusk, Nacogdoches, and Fort Worth, Texas, Bolden Janitorial Services Forth Worth, Texas and Dr. Peper Bottling Company where he retired.
James loved the Lord and was faithful in serving Him. He became a minister on July 31, 1977. He was a member at First Harvest Baptist Church, First Timothy Baptist Church, and Refuge Bible Church. At the time of his passing, he was a member of New Pleasant Hill in Crockett, Texas.
On December 21, 2022, Rev. James Skinner surrendered to the voice of His Heavenly Father and transitioned from Earth to Glory.
He was preceded in death by his parents Floyd Skinner and Rosie Hodges; wife Claudine Skinner; son Claude Cannon; son-in-law Samuel Johnson; 14 brothers and 2 sisters.
Those left to cherish His memory; daughter Marga Skinner-Johnson; son J.L. (Velma) Skinner; daughter-in-law Evelyn Cannon; sister's Viola Jenkins and Icy Bell Skinner; special granddaughters Gia (Derrick) Shepard, Eroctonya Skinner, Shamonica Johnson, and Shemeka (Gavin) Lamb, 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren and a special Niece Jalane Green.
