Jacky Morris Cook, 86, of Elkhart passed from this life on Monday, July 2, 2018. Jacky was born April 30, 1932 outside Corrigan, Texas, to Oma Cook Ashworth and Frank Arnold Ashworth, upon the death of Jacky's birth mother she was adoped by her great aunt and uncle, Samuel J. Morris and Ruth Norman Morris and spent her "growing up" years in Diboll, Texas, where as a teenager she met and married William Ray Cook. While expecting their first child Jacky lived in San Diego, California while Ray was deployed overseas during the Korean War. While in California Jacky and Ray met and became lifelong friends with Norwood and Genie Gay of Elkhart, Indiana and Billy Joe and Josie Greer of Houston, Texas. Upon Ray's discharge from the Marine Corp they returned to Alto and made their home there until moving to Houston in 1957 where they lived until retirement brought them back to East Texas in 1994.

Jacky is survived by children, LuRay (Lu) Taylor and son-in-law Lee of Palestine and Kimberly Minter of Longview, 4 grandchildren, Michael Taylor (Courtney) of Weatherford, Texas; Scott Taylor, (Meridith) of Port Aransas, Texas, Brenda Cook of Huntsville, Texas and Stephanie Cook of Elkhart, Texas. 5 great grandchildren, Madison and Hudson Taylor, Cotton and Easton Taylor and Hailey Phillips, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.

Jacky was preceded in death by her birth parents, adoptive parents, son William D. (Bill) Cook, husband William R. (Ray) Cook and brother Arnold (Shot) Ashworth.
