Memorial services for Hazel Joyce DeVries, 88, of Lufkin are pending. Hazel passed away Friday, March 13, in Lufkin. She was born September 8, 1931 in Markham, Texas to Odis McGilberry and Minnie Harvey McGilberry. She grew up in Zavalla and lived most of her life in Lufkin. Hazel was Baptist and worked many years as a hair stylist. She loved music and playing the piano and had a witty, unique personality. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold DeVries. Hazel is survived by sons Steve DeVries of Jacksonville and Gary DeVries of Austin as well as 4 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
