Alto – Funeral services for Gene Loute Comer, 92, of Alto will be Monday June 26th at 2pm at the Cold Springs United Methodist Church near Alto. Interment will follow at the West Family Cemetery on FM 220 near alto. Visitation will be Monday from 10am-12pm at the O.T. Allen & Son funeral home. Mrs. Comer died Saturday in Lufkin. She was born June 6th, 1925 in Alto, Texas to Martin "Vonner" and Minnie Olivia Felder Lout. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Curtis Comer, and older sister Mildred Lout Roark. Mrs. Comer moved to Houston after graduating from Alto High School in 1942, had a career with Southwestern Bell and then retired and moved back to Alto. She married Curtis Comer at 60 years of age. She loved singing, riding horses, and her cats. Mrs. Comer was a member of the Cold Springs United Methodist Church in Alto. She is survived by Sister Mary Kate Lout West of Alto, Texas, Brother and Sister-in-law J.B. "Bud" and Shirley Lout of Pollock, Texas, Nieces Sharon West Smith (Travis) of Alto and Kathy West Coppenger-Wilton (Bill) of Alto, step daughter Pat Croes, Step Grandchildren Curt, Karen, and Deedee, special friends Carol and Curt Hall of Lufkin, Texas, and numerous other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
