Freddie Verilea Corley Mack, 90, of Alto, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2026.

Born on February 6, 1936, in Midway, Texas, to Fred and Mary Corley, Freddie was raised in the community she always held close to her heart. She later made Alto her home, where she spent the majority of her adult life surrounded by family, friends, and neighbors.

Freddie devoted much of her life to caring for others. As a caregiver, she lovingly served many families by providing compassionate care to their elderly loved ones. Her nurturing spirit, selflessness, and kindness touched countless lives and reflected the way she lived each day.

Freddie could often be found tending to her yard and animals, cooking meals, or caring for others around her. She never met a stray animal she didn't want to feed and always made sure the wildlife around her home was cared for as well. Her greatest joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved each of them dearly and never missed an opportunity to brag about their accomplishments. Her love, encouragement, and unwavering support will remain treasured memories for all who knew her.

Freddie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Archie Mack; her parents, Fred and Mary Corley; and her sister, Maxine McMurrough.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons, Mark Cannon and wife Tara of Alto, Texas; Randy Cannon and Christina of Crosby, Texas; and Victor Cannon and Denise of Alto, Texas. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Karra Cannon, Denise Cannon, Allen Cannon, Anthony Cannon and wife Ashley, Amanda Carroll and husband Brian, Brittany Welch and husband Brad, and Casey Cannon and wife Abigail; and by her cherished great-grandchildren, Tristen Welch, Dyess Welch, Emory Welch, Ellee Welch, Payton Cannon, Colt Cannon, Charley Cannon, Savannah Robinson, Aaliyah Robinson, Ja'korian Freemount, Jacob Cannon, Kenleigh Sitze, Madelene Williams, Emily Gonzalez, Jax Cannon, Kendall Cannon, Savannah Cannon, and Hudson Cannon, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at O.T. Allen & Son Funeral Home in Alto. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Elwood Cemetery near Midway, Texas.

Freddie's life was a beautiful example of love, service, and devotion to family. She was happiest when caring for others—whether tending to those in need, making sure the wildlife was fed, working in her yard, preparing meals for those she loved, or spending time with the family she treasured so deeply. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, generosity, and unconditional love that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
