Obituary

Alto – Funeral services for Forest Dwain Grogan, 73, of Alto will be Wednesday, August 7th, at 11 AM at the A. Frank Smith United Methodist Church in Alto with Bro. John Black officiating. There will be a family visitation beginning at 10 AM at the church on Wednesday. Mr. Grogan died Monday, August 5th in Lufkin, Texas. He was born October 17, 1945 in Jacksonville to Forest Grogan and Geneva Meadows Grogan. Mr. Grogan had lived in Alto all his life and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Alto. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and had worked primarily as a truck driver. Mr. Grogan had worked various other jobs through the years, including being part owner of Alto Ford and running a feed store. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Barbara Grogan in 2018 and sister Janie Carpenter. He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Laci and Todd Driscoll of Lufkin, Lecia and Dax Bowman of Bullard, son and daughter-in-law Brian and Jeana Grogan of Alto, sister Virginia Lippert (Buddy) of Friendswood, brother-in-law Gerald West (Diane), sister-in-law Carolyn Reina (Milo), grandchildren Wade and Brett Grogan, Chase, Nate and Zoie Driscoll and Luke, Kennedy and Gabe Bowman. Grandsons Wade, Brett, Chase, Nate, Luke and Gabe will be pallbearers.
