Finis Calvin Nance Alto - Funeral services for Finis Calvin Nance, 91, of Alto will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Alto with Rev. Gary Pridmore officiating. Mr. Nance passed away Sunday, October 16, 2016 in Rusk. He was born March 14, 1925 in Rusk, Texas to Tommie Berry Nance. He had lived in Alto for the last 31 years after living in Houston for 34 years. He had worked at Continental Can Company in Houston for 37 years and was a deacon and member of the First Baptist Church in Alto. Mr. Nance was a U.S. Army veteran who served during W.W. II with General Patton''s 3rd armored division. Mr. Nance was preceded in death by his mother. Survivors include wife Eva Rae Nance of Alto, daughter Lydia Nance of Tyler, sons Paul Nance (Paige) of Spring and Scott Nance (Kris) of Rusk, sisters Wanda Boyett (Jimmie) of Hemphill and Betty Esses of Houston as well as grandchildren Derek Nance, Brooke Nance, Jack Lamberth and Trevor Nance. Pallbearers will be Craig Landrum, Danny Landrum, Jimmy Landrum, Dennis Landrum, Roy Thiodeux and Gary Landrum. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8- PM at the funeral home in Alto.
