Ferril Dean Smith Alto - Graveside services for Ferril Dean Smith, 91 of Alto will be Saturday, February 4th, at 10 AM at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Wells, Texas with Rev. Bobby King officiating. Mr. Smith died Tuesday, January 31st in Alto. He was born July 18, 1925 in Wells, Texas to C.C."Cook" Smith and Mary Gee Smith. Ferril was retired from Dow Chemical where he had worked for 28 years as an operator and was a U.S. Marines veteran. Mr. Smith was a member of First Baptist Church in Alto and had also lived in Freeport, Angleton and the Barsola community. He was preceded in death by his wife Madge Odom Smith, infant son Ferril Dean Smith Jr., brother William Clinton Smith and sisters Evelyn Bowman and Beth Hicks. Survivors include daughter Cheryl Smith Cameron, grandson Thomas Ferril Lybarger, great grandchildren Dean Thomas Lybarger and Erica Shae Lybarger, brother Wilbert Smith and sister Donna Smith Driggers. No visitation is scheduled.
