There will be a graveside memorial service for Ernest Lee Schlemmer Jr., 87, of Alto and formerly of Willis, Saturday, September 9th at 11 AM, at the County Line Cemetery in Willis. Mr. Schlemmer died Saturday, September 2nd in Jacksonville.died Saturday,September 2nd He was born May 16th, 1930 in Akron, Ohio to Ernest Lee Schlemmer Sr. and Mary Williams Schlemmer. Mr. Schlemmer was a Christian and attended the Trail to Christ Cowboy Church in Jacksonville. He had worked several jobs in his life, including being a newspaper typesetter at the Houston Chronicle and owning and operating the Dan Dee Dog restaurant in Willis. Mr Schlemmer was also a 32nd degree Mason. He was preceded in death by wife, Charlene Schlemmer, brother Harvey Schlemmer and sister Barbara McRobie. Survivors include daughters Debra Dean of Willis, Helen Hales (Jessie) of Willis and son Ernest Lee Schlemmer (Kim) of Alto. Also survived by 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
