Ernest Lee Schlemmer III of Alto, Tx born July 21, 1960, passed away peacefully at his home on July 5, 2024. He is predeceased by his parents, Charlene and Ernest Lee Schlemmer II. He leaves behind his wife Kimberly Schlemmer of Alto, Tx, children Hannah and Caleb Few of Cushing, Tx and Samuel Schlemmer of Alto, granddaughters Avonlea, Elizabeth and Eva Few of Cushing, Tx, sisters Helen Hales of Huntsville, Tx and Debbie Schlemmer of Willis, Tx along with many nieces and nephews. Lee was born in San Antonio, Tx and worked construction while competing in Bronc Riding events as a young adult before attending Sam Houston State University and Rhema Bible College. He then served as youth pastor at Harvest Time Church in Palestine and Grace Family Bible Church in Frankston. After college Lee started a career with TDCJ where he worked multiple units and was a volunteer firefighter/EMT with the Elmwood Volunteer Fire Department. He retired from the prison system after 36 years. Lee enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, lawn care, westerns and most of all his children and grandchildren. He will be mourned by many for his dry sarcastic humor and perseverance through life's challenges. A memorial service will be held Sunday July 14, 2024 2pm at Trail to Christ Cowboy Church (5858 US-79 West, Jacksonville, Tx) officiated by Pastor Mark Norman.
