Obituary

Alto – Graveside services for Dorothy Mae Taylor, 90, of Lufkin, will be Sunday June 16th at 3 PM at the Weches Cemetery with Rev. Horace Fletcher officiating.  Mrs. Taylor passed away Friday, June 14th in Jacksonville. She was born September 19,1928 in Alto to William L. Pounders and Louise Quine Pounders. Mrs. Taylor spent most of her life in Lufkin and was a homemaker, a great wife, great mother and wonderful grandmother. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Lufkin. Mrs. Taylor is preceded in death by her husband Jim Elwood Taylor, son Joe Ed Taylor, sisters Shirley Jean Taylor and Bobbi Francis Taylor and brother Alvin Pounders. She is survived by sons Jimmy and Larry Taylor of Jacksonville, daughter Mary McDaniel (Ronald) of Jacksonville, sister Mary Oliver of Lufkin, grandchildren Cody McKnight (Kourtney), Tammy Willis (Brian), Ron McDaniel Jr., Carrell Cook, and Mark McDaniel, and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
