Delima "Bean" McGowan Dickie Allen Funeral Home - Cushing, TX (936) 326-4531 Cushing - Funeral services for Delima "Bean" McGowan, 80, of Cushing will be Saturday, July 2nd, at 1pm at the Dickie Allen Funeral Home in Cushing, Texas with Rev. Sheldon McGowan and Rev. B.C. Grogan officiating. Burial will follow at the Friendship Cemetery. Mrs. McGowan passed away Tuesday, June 28th, in Cushing. She was born November 22, 1935 in Nacogdoches County to Grover Clevelan Runnels and Mildred Scott Runnells. Mrs. McGowan lived all her life in Nacogdoches County and Cushing and was a member of the Shears Chapel CME Church. She was retired from Rusk State Hospital after many years and had also worked at Cushing ISD. She was a member of the Heroines of Jericho. Mrs. McGowan was preceded in death by her husband Herman McGowan, son Herman Earl McGowan and brothers Wardell Runnels, Alvin Runnels and Dave Esco as well as her parents. She is survived by sons Lester Mallard of Cushing and Jeffery McGowan of Cushing, God Son Buster Mallard of Cushing and God Daughter Tina Smith of Nacogdoches, brothers Earsel Runnels of Dallas and Charles Esco of Nacogdoches, sister Mary Esco of Nacogdoches as well as 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Robert Scott Jr., Kenneth Wayne Scott, Willie Ray Scott, Cecil Scott Jr., David Wayne Fuller and Dolvin Upshaw. Grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be Friday, July 1st, from 6-8 PM at the funeral home
