Graveside funeral service for Curtis Ray Thacker, 62, of Alto will be held Saturday, August 15, at 11 AM, at the St. Thomas Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Johnny Thacker officiating. Mr. Thacker passed awayTuesday, August 11 in Jacksonville. He was born January 23, 1958 in Rusk, Texas to Andy Thacker and Arma Lee Hamilton Thacker. Curtis lived all his life in Alto and was a member of the St. Thomas Chapel AME Church. He had worked in logging and loved the outdoors and spending time with his family. Curtis was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by  his children Justin Ray Thacker of Alto, Elizabeth Alford (Darren) of Rusk, Jaskin Jenkins (Jemiah) of Rusk, Natalie Nicole Davis of Nacogdoches, Latasha Nicole Thacker of Nacogdoches, Kirkland Thacker of Lufkin, Dametrice Marshall of Alto, Timothy Reagans (Fallon) of Grapeland, sisters Annie Lee Richardson of Alto, Pamela Robinson of Alto and Joyce Simpson of Jacksonville, brothers Rev. Johnny Thacker of Alto and Fredrick Thacker of Jacksonville, wife Vanessa Thacker and special friend Cynthia Washington of Nacogdoches and numerous grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, nieces, nephews and other friends and relatives. A viewing time will be held Friday from 10 Am until 6 PM at the funeral home.
