Obituary

Charles Ray Olenick, 67, of Nacogdoches, passed away Februrary 27, 2021 at his home. He was born November 27, 1953 to Charles and Louise Olenick in San Antonio, Texas. Charles spent the majority of his life in Nacogdoches. He was a master carpenter who worked on custom cabinets and doll furniture. He was known as a hard worker with a strong work ethic.  He loved his family, hunting and fishing. And on a late summer night he could be found dancing and listening to Elvis Presley. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Karen Olenick. He is survived by his daughters Tammie Holliman of Cushing, Charlene Olenick of Texarkana, Arkansas and Laura Rogers of Nacogdoches; a brother Billy Olenick of Oklahoma; sisters, Peggy Joyce Newberry, Lee Nell Whiteley, Patricia Davis, Ammie Olenick, and Sandy Olenick; grandchildren, Kenneth Monday, Monica Monday, David Rogers, Alyssa Rogers, William Shockley, III, James Shockley, Hannah Spears, Haley Spears, Justin Cooper, Melena Cooper, and Kayla Sage; and great grandchildren, Jayden Sage, Luke and Levi Harris. Charles Ray Olenick was loved by many; he will truly be missed.
