Carolyn Jean Milam, 71, passed away August 14, 2021 in Henderson, Texas surrounded by family and loved ones. Carolyn Jean Milam was born September 5, 1949 to Medford Lewis and Hilda Garner Carlisle in Rusk, Texas. Carolyn was a Missionary Baptist and attended the Sardis Baptist Church. Carolyn lived in Henderson for over thirty years with her husband Ben Milam and their children. Ben married the love of his life, Carolyn, December 19, 1964. They were married for almost fifty-seven years. Of that union were born three children. According to Ben, Carolyn was "the best wife" and a 'helpmate." She was known as an attentive wife and mother. She loved animals especially cats and dogs. Carolyn was the consummate homemaker. Carolyn spent as much time as she could with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Ben Sr., son Ben and wife Janet Milam, Jr., daughter Loretta Lynn VanZant, brother James Carlisle, and sister Linda Keaton. Carolyn is also survived by grandchildren Brianna Milam, Bonnie VanZant, Sarah Brown, Ronnie VanZant, and Reagan Snyder; and numerous great grandchildren. She will be missed by all those that knew and loved her.
