Graveside services for Bobby Ray Watson, 69, of Alto will be Monday, December 14, at 1 PM in the St. Thomas Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Lionel Whitaker officiating. There will be a visitation time from 9 – 12 noon, Monday at the funeral home. Bobby Ray Watson passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2020 in Alto. He was born in Crockett, Texas, January 7, 1951 to J. Lee Watson and Mary Smith. Mr. Watson had lived in Alto for about 30 years and had also lived in Dallas and Athens for several years. He was a member of the St. Thomas AME church in Alto and had worked in construction as well as several other occupations throughout his life. He was a graduate of Alto High School in 1969 and had attended Prairie View College. Bobby was an excellent athlete and an avid sports fan. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents a brother and a sister. He is survived by brothers Richard Brown (Ira), Rosevelt Watson, Isiah Watson (Ethelyn), Larry Watson and Billy Chancellor, sisters Shirley Ailey and Gloria Dexter (John) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family is asking that everyone please wear a mask at the service.
