Funeral service for Beverly Hackney-Jones, 43, of Alto will be held Thursday, January 24th, 2018 at 1 pm at the New Hope Baptist Church in Alto, Texas. Burial will follow in the New Hope Cemetery. She was born March 5th, 1975 in Jacksonville, Texas to Ellis Mitchell Jr. and Brenda Hackney. Mrs. Hackney-Jones lived most of her life in Alto and was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church. She worked for the Lufkin State School and had also worked at the Rusk State Hospital, Cherokee County Sheriff's Department, T.D.C. and the Department of Health and Human Services. She was preceded in death by her father Ellis Mitchell Jr. and grandmother Bulah Mae Hackney. Beverly is survived by husband Michael Jones of Alto, mother Brenda Hackney-Jackson of Alto, son Charlie Jones of Alto, sister Angela Hackney-Jefferson of Alto and brothers Arthur Ray Hackney of Lufkin, Antwan Hicks of Jacksonville and Jerome Lacy of Rusk. There will be a visitation Wednesday, January 23rd, 6-8 pm at the funeral home in Alto.
