Bernice Rennell Kirkendall, 79, of League City/Alto, passed away on Feburary 26, 2023 in Lufkin, TX.

Rennell was born in Brewton, Alabama to Joseph Garrett Wiggins and Leila Lee Thompson Wiggins on September 29, 1943.  After seeing Rennell for the first time while she was working at an ice cream shop, Donald Ray Kirkendall claimed to his fellow Navy buddy he would marry her. After courting her, they were married on June 18, 1960 in Milton, Florida.

She retired from the University of Houston, Clear Lake.  She was a proud member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

Rennell was a guiding force always keeping an eye on providing for the future.  She was a fierce proponent for her children and grandchildren. Always taking care of family and friends before herself.  You are loved and missed by everyone who knew you.

Rennell is preceded in death by her parents Joe and Leila Wiggins, husband Donald Kirkendall, daughter Kimi Durdin, and brother Frank Wiggins.

Rennell is survived by her son Garrett and daughter-in-law Shelley Kirkendall; son-in-law Robert Durdin; grandchildren Aaron and Destiny Durdin, Alyssa Durdin, and Aston Durdin; great-grandchildren Demi Durdin, Blakely Durdin, Annsley Durdin, and Grayson Mcclutchen; and her nephews Tony Wiggins and Mike Wiggins.
