A memorial service for Amanda Marie Martin, 47, of Nacogdoches is pending. Amanda passed away Saturday, September 26, 2026 in Nacogdoches. She was born April 6, 1979 in Rusk, Texas to Johnnie Robert Martin and Janice Marie Parker Martin. She grew up in Alto and lived most of her life in Nacogdoches. She was a graduate of Alto High School and a member of the Weeping Mary Baptist Church. Amanda had worked as a cook and loved fixing hair, singing and playing dominoes. She was a people person with a big heart who never met a stranger. Amanda was preceded in death by her father Johnnie Martin, sister Alethia Hackett and grandparents G.W. Parker and Bessie Mae Parker and Clarence and Lavada Martin. Amanda is survived by her children Daketra S. Woodson, Ra’Dedrick D. Woodson, Ja’Naiya A. Woodson, Ke’Astra L. Woodson and Za’Brailon M. Martin, mother Janice Marie Martin, sisters Manasha Martin and Minerva Martin and grandchildren Zyleigh Woodson, Cayson Rogers, Kashlinn Martin, Remi Martin, Baylee Woodson, Brailynn Woodson and Zacari Woodson.
