Funeral services for William Skinner, 102, of Alto, will be Wednesday, November 20, at 11 AM in the Weeping Mary Baptist Church in Alto. Mr. Skinner passed away Wednesday, November 13, in Alto. He was born July 22, 1917 in Alto, Texas to Floyd Skinner and Ellen Easley Skinner. He had lived all his life in Alto and was a member of the Weeping Mary Baptist Church. He had retired from the Owen-Illinois Plywood Plant in Lufkin and had also worked as a farmer and an asphalt road repairman. He was preceded in death by wife Minnie Skinner and 17 siblings. William is survived by daughters Verdie Martin of Alto, Myrtle Washington of Dallas and Von Grey of Arizona, brother James L. Skinner of Alto, sisters Viola Jenkins of Alto and Icy Bell Skinner of Alto as well as a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. There will be a visitation Tuesday, November 19, at the funeral home in Alto from 6-8 PM.
