Funeral services for Signa Jean “Sig” Lucas-Howell, 93, of Sacul, will be Friday, December 27th, at 2 PM at the Dickie Allen Funeral Home in Cushing with Rev. Mike Williams and Rev. Johnny Emerson officiating. Burial will follow at the Redland Cemetery. Mrs. Lucas-Howell passed away Saturday, December 21, in Sacul. She was born March 6, 1926 in Lilbert, Texas to Norvel Eugene Prince and Jessie Lee Bettis Prince. She lived most of her life in Sacul and had also lived in Texas City. Sig was Methodist and was retired from the Rusk State Hospital where she worked in Recreational Therapy for about 28 years. She was preceded in death by husbands Billy Lucas, Grady Gunter and Russell Howell, son Ronnie Gunter, sister Melva Lucas and brother Duward Prince. She is survived by sons Joe Gunter and wife Suzy of Rusk and Greg Gunter and wife Freddie of Sacul, sister Myra Dean Thomas of Lilbert, grandchildren Ronnie Gunter and wife Cathy, Robby Gunter and wife Micki, Dede Wiseman and husband B.J., Jodi King and husband Mark, and Lisa Wallace and husband Craig, 15 grandchildren and 9 Great Great grandchildren. Pallbearers are Robby Gunter, Ronnie Gunter, Mark King, B.J. Wiseman, Slate Wiseman and Dennis Berryhill, honorary pallbearers are Billy Vernon, Bobby Wallace, Kenneth Wheeless, Nick Glaze, Steve Peters, William Lucas and Wayne Lucas. There will be a visitation Friday before the service beginning at 12 noon.
