Cushing – Funeral services for Lester Ray Nichols, 89, of Cushing, Texas will be Monday December 9th at 2pm at the Dickie Allen Funeral Home chapel with Maury Millican officiating. Burial will follow at McKnight Cemetery in Cushing. Visitation will be Sunday December 8th from 6-8pm at the funeral home in Cushing. Mr. Nichols died Thursday December 5th, in Cushing, Texas. He was born February 28th, 1930 in Cushing, Texas to George Washington and Elsie Whitaker Nichols. He was a lifetime resident, and a member of the local Masonic Lodge. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Mary Adelle, Holly Bernice and husband Ephraim Blackburn, Helene Johnston and husband Johnny, sister in law Vera Nichols, brother Haward Nichols and wife Dorothy, and Hall Edward Nichols and wife Mary, nephews Lowell Blackburn and Nicky Nichols, and grandchild Christopher Nichols. He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law Patti Nichols of Cushing, Texas, Nita and Mark Hyatt of Brenham, Texas; Sons and Daughter-in-law Forest Ray Nichols of Nacogdoches, Texas and Christopher Allen and Allison Nichols of Ft. Worth, Texas; Brother Herbert Nichols of Lilbert, Texas; Grandchildren Dawn and husband Shane Johnson, Amanda and James West, Jennifer and Kyle McGlothlin, Joshua and wife Jill Hyatt, Laura Kathyrn and husband Bryan Page, Ryan Nichols, Lyndon Nichols and special friend Ashlee, Lathan Nichols, and Addyson Nichols; Great Grandchildren Patrick and Emma Johnson, Kaden, Whitt, Sydney McGlothlin, Isabelle and Luke Hyatt, George and Penny Cruz, Jhonen and Coraline West; numerous Nieces and Nephews; and constant K-9 companion Dakota.
