Kathy was born September 8, 1953 in Tucson, Arizona. She passed away quietly in the presence of her two sons and her husband Gary at her home on Saturday June 1, 2019 at the age of 65. She attended Kilgore High School where she was selected Miss Kilgore High School. She attended Kilgore Junior College where she was a member of the world famous Kilgore Rangerettes. This is where she met her husband Gary, to whom she was married for 44 years. She worked for the State Comptrollers Office of Texas for 30 years where she retired. She gallantly battled bladder cancer for two years. Now she is in the presence of God. For those of you that knew her, she was a kindred soul with a gentle spirit. She never spoke ill of anyone and was loved by all that knew her. She was truly an example of the love of Jesus Christ.
She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to travel, go shopping, and spend time with her friends. Most of all, she loved to dance. She was active at church as a member of the United Methodist Women, a member of the Altar Guild, and a member of the Prayer Team at Easter. She was preceded in death by her mother, Dixy Simmons. She is survived by her husband Gary, of Nacogdoches, her son Charlie Robinson, his wife Camille, their two children Kate and Kyler of Midland, Texas, son Eric Robinson of Katy, Texas, his wife Jenna, and their three children Kayden, Cooper, and Kellyn, sister Karen Ambrose and husband Don of Coppell, and Karolyn Clifton and husband Baker of Central Heights. She is also survived by her father Charles Simmons and his wife Pat as well as several nieces and nephews. There will be a celebration of her life Saturday June 8, 2019 at 2 PM at the First United Methodist Church in Nacogdoches with a reception to follow in the parlor at the church. In lieu of flowers, she asked that donations be made to Love In the Name of Christ in Nacogdoches
