Gloria Thresia (Terry) Partin, 89, of Nacogdoches, Texas died on September 16, 2019, in her home surrounded by her loving daughters. Visitation will be held at Allen Funeral Home in Cushing, Texas at 1:00 p.m. on September 21, 2019, with the graveside funeral services to follow at the Nat Cemetery on Highway 343 at 2:30 p.m. Randy Harshbarger and Jay Taylor from the Stallings Drive Church of Christ will officiate with grandsons Luke and Jude Gresham reading the eulogy.
Involved career woman and engaged community and church member were phrases used to describe Terry. She was a longtime bank employee of the Cushing First National Bank and retired as a cashier. After retirement, she worked alongside her husband Dwight and later her son-in-law, Larry Gresham, at the Clyde Partin Monument Company where she was a board member, secretary, and treasure. Her community involvement included volunteering in the Cushing Parent Teachers Association, Cushing Lion’s Club, and Cushing High School Band Boosters. Through these organizations, she devoted countless hours in fundraising activities. She was a member of the Cushing and Mound and Starr (now known as Stallings Drive) churches of Christ where she taught many children in Sunday school, served many sick, and aided the bereaved. Her last volunteer activity was at a local Hospice agency in Nacogdoches, Texas.
Terry was born May 1, 1930, in San Augustine , Texas to the late Avis (Jean) and James McRae (Ray) Langford and is survived by her husband of over 70 years, James Dwight Partin; her son James Ray and daughter-in-law Patricia of Frederickburg, Texas; her daughter Gloria Jean and son-in-law Larry Gresham of Nacogdoches; and her daughter Nina Beth and son-in-law Bill Godsey of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Pallbearers are Larry Gresham, Scott Gresham, Bill Godsey, Ben Partin, Luke Gresham, and Jude Gresham.
Special recognition is expressed for the tireless time and effort provided during her over ten years of illness by Nina Godsey, daughter, and the caregivers Ofelia Salazar, Alma Covarrubias, Maria Moreno, Arely Herrera, and Rebecca Landeros.
